Who are the people that make up the membership at Lakewood Manor?

Our community is made up of retired people from all walks of life, which is great since all of us must contribute to the management and operation of our facility. That is what makes us different from ordinary senior complexes. In other senior complex buildings, you move in and pay your rent every month and that is it, you have no responsibility in the upkeep of the building other than look after your apartment.

In a housing co-op the members are expected to actively participate in the everyday running of the facility. We look for applicants that have experience and skills in various aspects of running the facility. Such as finance, social, mechanics, music, maintenance, crafts, woodwork, electric, plumbing, computer, bookkeeping and the list goes on.
