Lakewood Manor operates on the values and principles of the co-operative model as guidelines as to our organization. The By-laws, policies, and house rules were established when we were incorporated as a housing co-operative, these have been modified over the years to reflect our current requirments.
Lakewood Manor has two annual general meetings during which decisions are made by the membership on policy, budgeting or other matters of concern. The membership also elects a Board of Directors, who are charged with the everyday direction and management of the co-operative. There are also a number of committees that look after the many different aspects of our community life. It is expected that “Member's Participation” is actively pursued by all members in taking part in annual meetings, getting elected to the Board or joining committees and volunteering in other areas when and where needed.
